Colourscape music festival set to return to Clapham Common this September

One of Clapham’s most unique and immersive events looks set to return, as plans have been submitted for the Colourscape Music Festival to come back this September.

Presented by Eye Music Trust, the festival transforms Clapham Common into a walk-through world of colour, light and sound.

At the centre of it all is a vast inflatable structure made up of around 70 interconnected chambers, filled with shifting colours and live music. Visitors move through the space as performances unfold around them blending experimental sound, classical music, global influences and interactive elements into one continuous experience.

Previous editions have included everything from live improvisation and orchestral pieces to dance and participatory performances, creating something that feels closer to stepping inside an artwork than attending a traditional festival.

While full details for 2026 are yet to be confirmed, the return of Colourscape would once again bring a week of colour and creativity to Clapham and offer something completely different to the usual summer programme on the Common.

If approved, it’s definitely one to have on your radar.
