On Saturday 2 September come celebrate Clapham’s heritage at the Clapham Old Town Fair organised by Omnibus Theatre and funded by This is Clapham.

Now in its third year, the fair is an opportunity to showcase some of the best Clapham has to offer with activities for all age groups. The fair will take place around The Polygon starting from 12 noon. Free entry.

Local community and sport groups, and cafe, pubs and restaurants will all have stalls or demonstrations to showcase what they have to offer.  Live music is being organised by Clapham Oxjam and will be an opportunity for local bands and singers to entertain the community in which they live or work.

 

 

A major highlight is the Omnibus Dog Show, Clapham’s Mutts. Is your dog up for the challenge? There will be all sorts of categories which you can enter on the day.

Vauxhall City Farm will also be bringing some of their animals, which is always popular with children. The local fire brigade will also be out in force with their engines and will have some demonstrations to join in.

For the old-school traditionalists there is also an egg and spoon race and even a coconut shy.

There will be a wide range of activities for everybody to take part in, so come and enjoy the nostalgia of a traditional fair right in the heart of Clapham’s Old Town.
