Clapham is planning to celebrate the start of the festive season with a brilliant festival of light parade from Clapham North along the High Street across to the paddling pool on the Common and finally into the Old Town Square.
The event which will take place on Friday 27 November starts at 5.30pm at Clapham North Tube Station. It is being organised by Omnibus, the multi-arts centre on Clapham Northside, and This is Clapham, the local business improvement district.
As the parade wends its way through Clapham, street buskers, gospel singers, fire-breathing performers, LED stilt walker (pictured) and visual artists will entertain and dazzle as local shops and businesses unveil their festive displays and decorations.
The parade will conclude with a Christmas Market including live music, mulled wine and festive street food in Clapham Old Town Square. There will also be a Santa’s grotto for kids.
