Bandstand Beds will be planting over 50 fruit trees along the edge of the new food-growing garden on Windmill Drive on Saturday 21 November starting at 10.30am.
Anybody with a keen interest in gardening is welcomed to attend and people who chip in or pop along will be rewarded with pumpkin soup, mulled wine and mince pies.
The new trees – including cherry plum and crab apple – will provide some shelter to the new garden, integrate the visual appearance of the site into the Common’s landscape and, above all, fresh food for the local community.
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear if you want to get stuck in.
More information can be found on the Bandstand Beds website.
